First we learn how your company works. Then we build its software.

Diafonis is a small software studio in Arco, Trentino. We sit with your team, find where the day gets stuck, and build the tools your company actually needs.

Sound familiar?

  • Job requests arriving by email, WhatsApp and phone.
  • Reports written on paper, typed up again on Friday.
  • The spreadsheet only one person understands.
  • A process that lives in someone’s head.

That’s where we start.

Selected work

Three products. Three very different problems.

A consumer tool, a platform for field-service companies, and a joke with a working smart contract. Different audiences, same habit: understand the people first.

PadelFather

A one-minute way through an overwhelming racket market.

In the summer of 2022, crypto was collapsing and everyone was very serious about it. This was the opposite: ten hand-drawn bears, each with a superpower, on a real smart contract.

Behind the joke: a Solidity contract, unit tests, IPFS metadata and a React mint site, built end to end.

How we work

We don’t start from software. We start from the way your company works.

Most companies don’t need more software. They need the right software, built around the habits and shortcuts that already make them good at what they do.

  1. 01

    Understand the business

We spend time where the work happens: the office, the warehouse, the site. We ask a lot of questions, some of them naive on purpose.

  2. 02

    Find the bottleneck

It’s rarely where people expect. Usually it’s the copy-paste between two spreadsheets, the report written twice, or the approval waiting on one person.

  3. 03

    Design the product

Flows and screens first, tried out with the people who’ll use them, before anyone writes code.

  4. 04

    Build it

Small releases and working software every week or two. You see progress, not status reports.

  5. 05

    Improve it together

The real feedback starts once people use it. We stay, watch what happens, and keep refining.

What we build
  • Internal tools & management software

Orders, jobs, stock and schedules in one place, matching how you work.

  • Workflow automation

The copy-paste between systems, done by the systems.

  • Customer & supplier portals

Status, documents and orders, without a phone call.

  • Operational dashboards

The numbers you check every morning, already assembled.

  • AI-assisted workflows

Emails into tasks, voice notes into reports, documents into data.

  • SaaS products

From first sketch to paying customers.

  • Prototypes & MVPs

Something real to test in weeks, before committing to more.

Partnership

Built together.

Diafonis works with a small number of companies at a time. Not as a supplier delivering a package, but closer to an external product team: one that knows your business, and stays.

Generic software asks your company to adapt to it. We’d rather do the adapting. That takes time together, which is why we keep the number of partners small.

  • One conversation, not a chain

You talk directly to the person designing and building your software. No account managers, no ticket queue.

  • On site when it helps

An afternoon in your office or on the shop floor often replaces weeks of email. We come to you.

  • Short cycles

Something real to try every week or two. Changing your mind early is cheap. Changing it late is expensive.

  • Shaped to your company

The software follows your processes and your vocabulary. Nobody should have to relearn their job to use it.

  • Built for year two

Software is never finished. We plan for new needs, new people and new ideas, not just the launch.

  • Close enough to visit

Based in Arco, at the top of Lake Garda. Riva, Rovereto, Trento and Verona are an easy drive. Everywhere else, there’s video.

The person behind Diafonis
“I like walking into a business I know nothing about, asking far too many questions, and working out what software would make it run better.”

I’m Aaron, and I’m a generalist on purpose. In a given week I might be interviewing the people who’ll use a tool, sketching its screens, writing its code and arguing about its pricing. That range is the point. Most software problems are really people problems, workflow problems or business problems that happen to need software.

I care a lot about how things look, and even more about how they’re used. Software for a company of forty people should feel obvious on the first day, and better on the hundredth.

Moves between

Watching how people really work, not how the process document says they do.

Off the clockPhotography, psychology, and noticing how people make decisions. It turns out all three are useful at work.

Contact

Still running part of the company on spreadsheets, WhatsApp and pieces of paper?

Tell me how your company works. No brief, no sales pitch: a couple of lines about where the day gets stuck is enough. I’ll reply personally.

What you do, how many people you are, where time gets lost. Two lines are plenty.
